Leadership Sioux Center Announces 13th Class
The Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the participants selected for the 2026-2027 Leadership Sioux Center class. Now entering its 13th year, the program continues to attract a strong and competitive pool of applicants who are eager to learn more about Sioux Center, build meaningful connections, and grow as leaders within the community.
Since its launch in 2014, Leadership Sioux Center has welcomed nearly 240 participants into its alumni network, creating a growing group of leaders representing businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, healthcare, local government, and many other areas of the community.
“Each year, we continue to be impressed by both the number and quality of applicants interested in Leadership Sioux Center,” said Barb Den Herder, CEO of the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce. “With so many strong applicants, selecting only 20 participants is never easy. We are fortunate to have so many individuals who want to better understand our community, build relationships outside of their normal circles, and become more engaged in Sioux Center. That continued interest says a lot about the people who live and work here.”
Leadership Sioux Center uses the community as its classroom. Throughout the eight month program, participants go behind the scenes of Sioux Center, learning from the people, organizations, and partnerships that have helped shape the community and continue to move it forward.
The class will begin its experience at The Ridge Golf Club in October, where participants will explore personal leadership, Sioux Center’s history and growth, land development, and the collaborative approach that has played an important role in the community’s success. Future sessions will provide opportunities to learn about local government, education, healthcare, business and industry, nonprofit organizations, and other areas that contribute to the quality of life in Sioux Center.
Just as importantly, the program creates opportunities for participants to build
relationships with one another and with current and past community leaders.

Leadership Sioux Center provides participants with the relationships, knowledge, and experiences to do just that.
