September: A Month of Milestones for Local Businesses
September was a busy and exciting month for the Chamber, full of events celebrating new businesses, relocations, expansions, and significant milestones in our community. Our social media was buzzing with photos from these special moments, as Chamber members and the community came together to recognize these achievements. As I look back on all the celebrations, three key themes really stand out to me:
- Our Chamber Members Are Extraordinary.
Our members consistently take time out of their busy schedules to attend and support these business milestones. If you look through the photos, you’ll see the incredible turnout — in fact, sometimes we can’t fit everyone into the frame! Even when it’s a competing business, they understand that growth benefits the entire community. - Long-standing, Locally Owned Businesses Are the Backbone of Our Community.
Locally owned businesses are not just economic drivers — they are integral to the character and success of Sioux Center. These businesses provide jobs, stability, and support for our local events and causes. - Sioux Center Cultivates Success.
This September, we celebrated some remarkable anniversaries. Vander Berg Homes marked 40 years in business, Ron De Groot celebrated 50 years of ownership at Casey’s Bakery — a business that has been providing sweet treats (and much more!) since 1946 — and M Design and Promotions proudly celebrated 20 years. These businesses exemplify the success that our community helps support!
So, how can we continue supporting both new and long-established businesses in reaching these milestones?
Support Local First.
These businesses are the ones that sponsor our local boosters, after-prom parties, and community events. They deserve to be your “first-look” when making your next purchase. Whether it’s for everyday purchases or something special, supporting a small, local business has a huge impact on their success.
Spread the Word.
Tell your friends and family about the amazing businesses in our community. Share their stories and tag them on social media to boost their visibility and encourage others to support them as well.
Be a Repeat Customer
Going back to a business for future purchases is one of the best ways to support it. Repeat customers not only help keep the lights on but also offer valuable feedback that helps businesses grow and improve.
The solution is simple. By coming together as a community to support both new and seasoned businesses, we’re not just building a stronger community – we’re making sure Sioux Center stays the kind of place where living, working and playing feel like a winning combo. Whether it’s grabbing a local coffee, dropping a business compliment on social media, or sharing the story of your favorite hometown spot, your support is the secret ingredient to our local business’ success. So, let’s continue the tradition of supporting these businesses so we can celebrate these milestones for years to come!
